We opened The Court Street Gallery on 4th May 2018.

We were very fortunate to take over the space from Katie Cowman of Katie Makes. Katie is a talented textile artist/seamstress and taught fab workshops in the space.

The building, Brick Mills, was constructed as a cloth mill, so the tradition of making is built in to the brickwork!

Our aim for The Court Street Gallery is to create a welcoming, friendly, relaxed space for both Artists running workshops, as well as workshop participants.

We pride ourselves on being helpful and supportive to artists and makers who are just starting out or who are new to running workshops.

We believe art and creating is for everyone, we welcome all ages and abilities.

The beautiful, bright airy space also means we can display amazing work from local artists. The work changes every 6 weeks, so there is always something new to catch your eye.

It is important for us to link the workshops to the art on display, so we offer very favorable rates to artists who chose to host workshops during their exhibitions.

We regularly hold exhibition preview evenings and artisan shopping events at The Court Street, as well as all the fab workshops!

We have created the gallery on a shoestring budget, but with hard work and incredible support from friends and family, we have made a space we are extremely proud of, come and visit us and see for yourself!
